In the latest Initiative by the municipality of Schwechat, decided at the 485th municipal council meeting, socially disatvantaged children in childcare facilities now receive additional free meals.
This expansion follows the new child care funding guidelines already established in the 482nd session.
Targeted support
The funding is aimed at families below the at-risk-of-poverty threshold, as determined by Statistics Austria's annual SILC survey. “With this measure we want to ensure that every child in Schwechat has access to healthy food, regardless of their social background,” explains City Councilor for Child Care Inna Mlada.
This expansion of funding underscores Schwechat's commitment to an inclusive and equitable community where the well-being of children comes first.
