Holiday Campaign
Every year, a holiday campaign is organized for seniors in Schwechat. This campaign is primarily aimed at providing low-income seniors with the opportunity to go on vacation.
Requirements for support from the City of Schwechat
- Residency in Schwechat (for at least one year)
- Monthly net family income does not exceed certain income thresholds.

The following income limits apply:
Single-person household:
€1,572
2 adults: €2,358
As of April 2024
Family income includes all income from both dependent and independent work, pensions, alimony, unemployment benefits, emergency and special emergency assistance, maternity benefits, apprenticeship compensation, and more. Exempt income includes family allowance, among other things.
If your income exceeds these limits, an application can only be considered if:
- There are still vacancies available.
- A financial contribution is made (with varying amounts based on income).
Applications must be submitted in person at the Senior Center's administration office. The relevant dates are published in the "Ganz Schwechat" newspaper.
As part of this campaign, the City of Schwechat covers the round-trip transportation and full board for 14 days at the vacation destination in double rooms during 2-3 rotations. Any additional charges for single rooms must be paid by the individual.
Participation is not guaranteed, and individuals providing deliberately false information will be excluded from the campaign for three years.
