Before attending a German course, an application can be made for its funding. With this measure, the city municipality aims to contribute to integration and enable newcomers to participate in social, economic, and cultural life.
Prerequisites for funding from the city municipality of Schwechat:
- Primary residence in Schwechat (for at least one year).
- The monthly net family income does not exceed certain guidelines.
- With the help of this Excel file (0.01 MB), you can check if you are eligible for funding.
The following income limits apply:
Single-person household: € 1,392
1 adult + 1 child: € 1,810
1 adult + 2 children: € 2,227
1 adult + 3 children: € 2,645
2 adults: € 2,088 2 adults + 1 child: € 2,506
2 adults + 2 children: € 2,923
2 adults + 3 children: € 3,341

Included in the family income are, for example: all incomes from employed and self-employed work, pensions, alimonies, unemployment, emergency and special emergency support, maternity pay, apprentice compensations, and more.
Incomes that are not taken into account include, for instance, family allowances, and more.

When applying for the grant, the following documents must be provided:
- Proof of identity (e.g., driver's license, passport) or status.
- Registration form.
- Proof of income (pay slip, etc.) The funding application must be submitted to the VHS Schwechat before the start of the course, and the eligibility for funding must be confirmed. The payout will be made to the applicant after the end of the course, provided a confirmed attendance of at least 80% is submitted. There is no entitlement to funding.
